Cytoplasmic granularity
WebAntineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are autoantibodies directed against antigens found in the cytoplasmic granules of neutrophils and monocytes. 1 These antibodies occur at presentation in most patients with active Wegener's granulomatosis or microscopic polyangiitis 1,2 (reviewed in Savige and colleagues 3 ). Websyncytia (arrows) and faint basophilic cytoplasmic inclusion bodies (dashed arrows). Cells were observed with the 20X objective (200X total magnification). WebAug 1, 2012 · During follicular antrum formation, granulosa cells (GCs) differentiate into mural GCs, lining the follicular wall, and CCs, surrounding the oocyte. Within the cumulus mass, CCs in close contact with the oocyte (corona cells) develop cytoplasmic projections which cross the ZP and form gap junctions with the oolemma. WebCytoplasm is vacuolated, not finely granular, as seen in granular cell tumor. Reactive Histiocytic Infiltrate Reactive lesions are often associated with a histiocytic infiltrate. Histiocytes typically have abundant foamy cytoplasm and can mimic granular cells. Nuclei vary in shape and can be spindled.
